My Theaputic Approach:
I offer a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that healing is possible for everyone. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can openly explore their thoughts and emotions. My work is informed by a recovery-oriented perspective that highlights resilience and builds on each individual’s inherent strengths. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet each client’s unique needs, drawing from a range of evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, grief processing, trauma-informed care, existential therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
My background and training:
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over five years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My work in mental health counseling is deeply informed by my own personal journey with mental health, which gives me a grounded and empathetic perspective in my practice. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent and older adult clients as well as co-occurring substance use/mental health concerns.
A bit about me:
Outside of sessions, I am someone who enjoys simple things: slow mornings with coffee, long hikes (even in the rain), listening to music, and losing track of time in a good book. I also love the outdoors, gardening, kayaking and spending time with family. These are the things that ground me, and they remind me of the importance of balance, creativity, and connection.
